About Us
The Pratt Laboratory at Boston University is an engineering-driven cancer research group working at the intersection of biomedical engineering, chemical biology, and oncology. We focus on blood-based “liquid biopsies”, which offer a powerful and minimally invasive way to study cancer progression. We develop technologies for quantitative characterization of rare cancer biomarkers, such as circulating cell-free DNA (ccfDNA) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). We employ a broad range of analytical tools and techniques, including digital droplet PCR (ddPCR), computational optimization methods, de novo peptide design, cell-based enzymatic assays, flow cytometry, and mass spectrometry.
Position Summary
We seek a full-time Research Technician for a one-year term (renewable based on funding and performance) to support the development of highly multiplexed ddPCR assays for longitudinal monitoring of pancreatic cancer using ctDNA. This role includes laboratory research, data analysis, equipment maintenance, human biological specimen handling, and contributing to publications and grant proposals.
