We are seeking a talented and engaged Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) Modelling scientist to join our Vienna Discovery Research Team for Oncology Research. In your role, you will collaborate to enable decisions regarding study designs in drug discovery, the selection of clinical drug candidates, and predicting the human efficacious dose to ultimately improve the life of cancer patients. We are looking for an open-minded PK/PD modelling professional who thrives in an interdisciplinary, global environment.
Representing preclinical PK/PD modelling in discovery research NCE (New Chemical Entities) and NBE (New Biological Entities) project teams in oncology research at Boehringer Ingelheim (e.g., small molecules, PROTACs, antibodies, TCEs, ADCs).
Collaborating closely with our oncology research teams located in Austria, Germany, and the US, turning modelling insights into practical research hypotheses, human efficacious dose prediction strategies, and driving the application of PK/PD to guide decision-making.
Contributing to informative preclinical PK and/or PD study designs, providing human PK and efficacious dose predictions, assessing PK/PD relationships and DMPK properties of candidate drugs, and translating preclinical findings in close collaboration with clinical pharmacology and preclinical development.
Providing mentorship and fostering the professional growth of (junior) research scientists, including for instance master and PhD students.
Represent and promote impactful applications of preclinical PK/PD modelling both internally and externally at Boehringer Ingelheim, and—depending on your level of experience—lead and coordinate Research DMPK activities within international project teams.
PhD in clinical pharmacometrics, preclinical PK/PD modelling, or any closely related field. A post-doctoral or industry experience is considered beneficial.
Alternatively, a PhD in related fields (such as applied mathematics) with extensive pharmacometrics experience in academia and/or industry and DMPK.
Solid skills in at least one relevant programming language (R, Python, MATLAB) and strong English communication skills.
Motivation to learn, collaborate in international teams and to invest into your personal development.
First experience in working in and leading matrix-style project teams is considered beneficial.
