UCL is seeking to appoint an outstanding Academic Leader to play a leading role in a major cross-faculty initiative. The UCLH Strategic Research Fund (SRF) is helping to shape the future of research at UCLH and UCL by investing in new facilities and building research capacity. With £11.9M awarded to UCL through the SRF, we have already launched several exciting projects that bring together clinical and academic expertise to tackle some of the biggest challenges in healthcare.
UCL Cancer Institute is seeking to appoint an exceptional non-clinical Academic to provide academic leadership and to advance internationally outstanding research into the biology, progression, and treatment of tumours of the central nervous system. This role is entirely non-clinical, and the postholder will lead a high-impact research programme, expand the Institute's capabilities in brain and neuro-oncology, and contribute strategically to UCL's long-term vision in cancer research. The role also includes postgraduate supervision, contributions to teaching, mentoring of early-career researchers, and active leadership across the Institute and wider Faculty.
Key responsibilities include:
You will hold a PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) in neuroscience, oncology, cancer biology, bioinformatics, or a closely related discipline, and you will have an internationally recognised record of excellence in brain and/or neuro-oncology.

Desirable attributes include experience in multidisciplinary team science, leadership of large research programmes, engagement with national or international research consortia, and involvement with patient groups, charities, or policy stakeholders.
