Professor of Quantum and Biomedical Engineering

This role offers an exciting opportunity to carry out research in the London Centre for Nanotechnology and teaching in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. The post holder will provide leadership at the intersection of quantum technologies and healthcare, contributing to the vision and mission of UCL's research and innovation focus on quantum science and technology. This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious, high quality applicants working at the intersection between quantum technologies and biological sciences including health. The appointee's field of expertise may complement UCL's existing research strengths in quantum technologies and support new links into biological and healthcare disciplines.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academic with a PhD in a relevant engineering or applied science discipline and a strong international reputation in quantum technologies. You will bring an outstanding research track record, including significant publications, successful postgraduate supervision, and the ability to attract and lead major research projects. Your expertise bridges quantum technologies with biomedical or health sciences, and you have a history of enabling others through collaboration, enterprise, or knowledge exchange. You are an experienced educator who has contributed to curriculum development and delivers high‑quality, supportive teaching.
