The Department of Food Science, Faculty of Technical Sciences, Aarhus University (AU FOOD), is seeking applications for an academic employee (AC‑TAP). This 36‑month position is for an experienced project coordinator within entrepreneurial training programs aligned with HEU-funded initiatives. The position is available from 15 March 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, and runs until 14 March 2029.
This is a 3-year position from 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2029.
We are seeking an experienced project leader to coordinate initiatives involving European partners, PhD candidates, and early-stage ventures focused on empowering young researchers and entrepreneurs in food system innovation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational abilities and a proven track record in managing collaborative projects across multiple stakeholders, including start-ups and academic institutions. The role requires a proactive and highly motivated individual who thrives in innovative, fast-paced environments. You will collaborate closely with international entrepreneurial hub coordinators, mentors, and start-up teams, both virtually and at various locations throughout Europe. Preference will be given to applicants with direct experience in Horizon Europe (HEU) projects and familiarity with HEU reporting procedures. Strong time management and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, mentors, coaches, administrators, and academic staff.
The Department of Food Science is part of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Aarhus University and includes research within the areas Biofunctional Food, Systems Biology, Food Chemistry and Physics, Food Processing, Food Metabolomics, Sensory Science and Plant Production in the greenhouse and field environments. The Department currently employs 140 full time scientific staff, including approx. 70 PhD students and Postdocs, plus approx. 60 thesis-based Bachelor and Master students and visiting researchers who together contribute to an international research environment where English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The Department works in teams and therefore self-leadership, clear and open communication, success in mentoring, supervising and teaching are important qualities needed to be successful in the Department. In addition, the Department has a strong culture that is based on openness, equality, inclusion and contributing to the Department strategy and working environment are viewed as important.
