The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.
The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry.
We are looking to appoint a project manager to join the multi-disciplinary team supporting the Trials Delivery Framework within Dementias Platform UK with the delivery of the READ-OUT Programme. The READ-OUT Programme is a £4.5m project aimed at establishing the utility of blood biomarkers of dementia in the care of people with cognitive disorders.
What We Offer
As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees' wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:
The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis. The minimum on-site time is 2 days per week.
The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 March 2027 with the possibility of extension to 31 March 2029) and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
You will provide project management, including planning, implementation and delivery of the READ-OUT programme, fostering agreement from clinical leads and Sponsors on elements such as timelines, resource requirements and risk management strategies. You will contribute to the design of the observational study and randomised control trial part of READ-OUT and will also design and implement a programme of progress audits to monitor the delivery of the READ-OUT research programme.
Whilst the role is a Grade 8 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 7 (£38674-£46913) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.
You will have a first degree in a biomedical or social science discipline (or relevant senior clinical research management experience). Certification in project management (PRINCE 2, PMP, etc.) and familiarity with Electronic Data Capture (SDC) systems and Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) would be desirable.
Committed to equality and valuing diversity. Our active Psychiatry People and Culture teams and initiatives including our values and behaviours framework, work to make the Department of Psychiatry as supportive, welcoming and inclusive as possible.
You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application. Please see the University pages on the application process at https://www.jobs.ox.ac.uk/application-process
