We are seeking a Research Assistant to work closely with other team members in the lab and support projects focused on understanding the molecular basis of HD and validating therapeutic targets. Core duties will include breeding and weaning mouse models, maintaining accurate colony records, DNA preparation and genotyping using PCR, detection of CAG repeat mutations using an ABI capillary sequencer, collection of biofluids and tissues for molecular or histological analysis, statistical analysis of data, preparation of presentations, reports, and publications, and assistance with general laboratory upkeep. Duties may occasionally require weekend work.
The role is available immediately and funded by the CHDI Foundation for two years in the first instance.

You will hold an MRes or MSc in Neuroscience or a related subject, with experience in working with mouse models of neurodegenerative disease, with mouse husbandry and genotyping, and with immunohistochemical and molecular biology techniques. Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting, are essential. You will be meticulous in all aspects of your work, with a strong commitment to supporting high-quality research.
Starting salary offered in the range of £39,148 – £41,833 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
