Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
We are seeking a technical research assistant for projects in clinical neuroscience that employ advanced technical methods to study brain function using magnetic resonance imaging. This position provides an opportunity to gain valuable research experience within an interdisciplinary field at the intersection of technology, neuroscience, and clinical research.
As a research assistant, you will contribute to research activities by processing and analyzing data from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in close collaboration with the research group. Over time, there will be opportunities to further develop the role and work more independently with data analysis and methodological development.
In addition, you will have a central technical role in several ongoing research studies. Your responsibilities will include the management and maintenance of computers and technical equipment, providing support during data collection, and developing and adapting technical solutions for research purposes. The role also involves programming (primarily in Python) for automation, data management, and analysis.
We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, meticulous, and solution-oriented, with a strong interest in research. You have excellent computer skills and experience handling technical equipment, as well as advanced programming experience, preferably in Python.
Experience in processing and analyzing data from functional magnetic resonance imaging is required. Experience with manual denoising using independent component analysis is particularly meritorious. You should have documented training in the processing of fMRI data, especially expertise in distinguishing signal from noise.
As the research includes participants with psychiatric conditions, documented experience in clinical psychology or psychiatry is also highly desirable. We would welcome applicants who are interested in a longer-term engagement with the project. Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
