Research Assistant

Join a dynamic research team leading the way in conservation genomics and artificial intelligence. As the research assistant, you will contribute to an exciting new project led by Associate Professor Celine Frere — “Combining omics and artificial intelligence to conserve Australian vertebrate species.”

You will play a key role in generating and analyzing data that will help protect Australia’s unique wildlife. This is an outstanding opportunity to apply your technical expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, and AI within a collaborative, forward-thinking research environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinates aspects of a scientific or technical activity
• Assists in the design of research studies, under supervision of senior staff
• Applies and/or instructs others on the application of advanced or specialist or technical research skills or processes
• Assists in the conduct of major or complex experiments, tasks or programs
• Assists with drafting research documentation, including ethics and funding applications
• Undertakes literature searches and reviews
• Assists with preparing reports, graphs, figures and presentations on research outcomes at different stages of the research cycle outcomes

Previous experience in a similar role would be considered favorably. The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
