Harald Lund's research group is recruiting a research assistant to lead a project studying how peripheral sensory neurons communicate with the vasculature and blood. The project will employ in vivo mouse studies and ex vivo analyses of tissues using several state-of-the art techniques.
The major goal of the lab is to map the cellular and molecular architecture of the blood-nerve barrier during health and disease. We aim to uncover novel physiological functions of the blood-nerve barrier and to understand whether manipulating this can be a strategy to treat disorders where sensory neurons are damaged or destroyed.
As a research assistant you will perform in vivo experiments, behavioral assessments, tissue dissections and ex vivo analyses of tissues using techniques such as immunohistology/imaging, flow cytometry and proteomics/mass spectrometry.
