Research Assistant Position

Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.

We are looking for a research assistant to support the research progress on Perovskite quantum dots for their implementation in light-emitting devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the materials and device team
• Development of Infrared emitting Quantum Dots (QDs)
• Development of Optoelectronics devices based on QDs
• Synthesis of novel Perovskite low-dimensional systems such as QDs and nanowires.
• Optical and electrical characterization methodologies.
• Operation, maintenance, and diagnosis of the chemistry lab and other simple laboratory instruments used.
• Supervise undergraduate students

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Physics/ chemistry/engineering or related disciplines.
• Experience in advanced laboratory experience in thermal evaporation
• Experience in advanced laboratory methods for the fabrication and analysis of solar cells
• Experience in Perovskite materials and optoelectronic devices
• Expert in Perovskite nanostructured synthesis.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent teamwork awareness.
• Good communication and writing in English – essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
• Strong responsibility for research/work
