We are looking for an experienced postdoctoral scientist to join Prof Christina Zielinski's group to work in the field of human T-cell immunology. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of human T-cell immunology using cutting edge cellular, molecular and computational approaches.
Your project will either focus on the molecular regulation of new T cell functions and signalling platforms or on the characterization of tissue-resident T cells, depending on your previous background and technical skill set. As a postdoc, you will have the opportunity to engage in multiple projects and to collaborate with junior scientists of the team and to supervise junior team members. You will also collaborate with clinicians to obtain human tissue samples. Computational (scRNAseq) and modelling expertise is a plus.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, coupled with excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills is required. Other duties/responsibilities include developing and driving research objectives and writing up work for presentation and publication.
Fixed-term: The post is available on a fixed term contract for two years (with the possibility of an extension) and is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
Please ensure that you upload your Curriculum Vitae (CV), a motivation letter detailing project and career development plans and include a publications list in the upload section of the online application. Please provide contact details, including an email address of two referees. At least one of your referees should be someone who is familiar with your work in your primary research field. If you upload any additional documents that have not been requested, we will not be able to consider these as part of your application.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates from a BME background for this vacancy as they are currently under-represented at this level in our Department.
