We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to join the Ryten Group at the UK Dementia Research Institute at the University of Cambridge.
This fixed-term post is available for 36 months.
The successful candidate will investigate transcript-specific regulatory mechanisms underlying cell-type-selective gene expression in neurodegenerative disease. The role will focus on defining how alternative promoter usage, transcription initiation, and transcript isoform diversity influence RNA regulation and downstream cellular phenotypes. Working within an interdisciplinary research programme integrating long-read and single-cell transcriptomics with translational RNA therapeutic development, the postholder will develop and apply novel computational approaches to identify regulatory features governing transcript expression in neuronal and glial systems. This work will contribute to mechanistic understanding of neurodegenerative disease biology and inform rational design of precision RNA-targeted therapeutic strategies.
For informal inquiries regarding the role, contact Professor Mina Ryten mr2022@cam.ac.uk The role will be based at the UK DRI, Island Research Building Cambridge Biomedical Campus, CB2 0AH.
Applicants must have (or be close to obtaining) a PhD.
