Research Associate – Molecular Biologist

The purpose of this position is to perform molecular biology research related to NIH grants.

Responsibilities include conducting independent research experiments using a wide variety of techniques, providing instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students, writing manuscripts and assisting in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals, making presentations at lab meetings, attending lab meetings and other meetings, and ordering chemicals and supplies specific to current project.

Required qualifications include a PhD in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology or closely related field, a history of research productivity as evidenced by a strong publication record in top journals, demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work well with a broad group of faculty, staff, and students, including the willingness and ability to mentor graduate students.

Preferred qualifications include relevant laboratory experience with various molecular biological techniques and three years of post-doctoral experience in a relevant field.

Salary range is $58,744+ depending on qualifications.

Working conditions may include personal protection equipment (furnished), working around chemical fumes, standard office conditions, bio-hazards, and chemicals.
