Research Associate – Molecular Biologist

The purpose of this position is to perform molecular biology research related to NIH grants.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting independent research experiments using a wide variety of techniques
• Providing instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students
• Writing manuscripts and assisting in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals

Required qualifications include:

• PhD in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology or closely related field
• History of research productivity as evidenced by a strong publication record in top journals
• Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work well with a broad group of faculty, staff, and students, including the willingness and ability to mentor graduate students

Preferred qualifications include:

• Relevant laboratory experience with various molecular biological techniques
• Three years of post-doctoral experience in a relevant field

Salary range is $58,744+ depending on qualifications.

Work shift is 40 hours per week – flexible between 7:00am – 7:00pm.
