Research Coordinator

We are looking for a research coordinator to join the research group led by Associate Professor Amaia Calderón-Larrañaga at the Aging Research Center, Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society.

Your role will involve coordinating the activities of the newly established Transdisciplinary Research Center for Personalized Dementia Prevention & Care (TraCeDem). Led by Karolinska Institutet, the newly established center TraCeDem brings together a transdisciplinary team of researchers and professionals working closely with healthcare services, municipalities, patient organizations, and policymakers. By combining population data, clinical research, digital tools, and co-created solutions, TraCeDem aims to improve how we prevent, detect, and care for dementia across the entire course of the condition. The center is funded by the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (FORTE) for the period 2026–2032.

Your Mission

In this full-time position, you will develop an independent research line related to the center's themes, while also providing coordinating support for the ongoing research projects within TraCeDem.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Conducting independent and collaborative research related to dementia care. In particular, analyzing Swedish national register and cohort data to identify predictors and consequences of major acute events (e.g., falls, pneumonia) in people with dementia and mapping care transitions across health and social care settings, particularly around rehabilitation and hospital discharge
• Applying for postdoctoral grants to secure additional funding
• Contributing to literature reviews or systematic reviews within ongoing research activities
• Tracking progress across multiple work packages within the center in collaboration with work package leaders and the leadership team. Preparing internal reports summarizing research progress
• Maintaining timelines, milestones, and deliverables together with the principal investigators
• Organizing both internal meetings with the steering board, leadership team, and stakeholder advisory groups, as well as center meetings, webinars, seminars, and conferences
• Supporting the dissemination of research findings to policymakers, NGOs, and the public through reports, policy briefs, and stakeholder events
• Assisting the financial coordinator with reporting to funders
• Maintaining the center website and newsletters after appropriate training and coordinating social media activities and research highlights
• Supporting scientific writing (e.g., reports and documentation)

Your Profile

The candidate must have:

• A doctoral (PhD) degree in public health sciences, epidemiology, or a related field
• Ability to work in a managerial role, demonstrated through prior experience in coordination, management, or administrative tasks
• Experience with quantitative research methods
• Experience with evidence synthesis methods (e.g., systematic reviews)
• Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Additional desired attributes:

• Research experience in care sciences, using population-based cohort data, national administrative or quality registers, and/or ad hoc representative surveys
• Master's degree in public health sciences (MPH, MSc)
• Medical degree (MD)
