Research Engineer, Emerging Technologies, ISCE2

We are seeking a highly motivated self-driven Research Engineer to join our research lab at A*STAR ISCE2 based on Jurong Island. You will work on sustainable soft materials with advanced properties for applications in bioengineering, CO2 capture and advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

• Support the conceptualization and development of new polymer materials for novel applications, including active CO2 capture, sensor, actuator and 3D printing.
• Operate basic analytical and evaluation instruments.
• Document and maintain accurate test records and reports, prepare documents for technology disclosure, patent filing and research publications.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, safety guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and team members.

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Materials, or Polymer Engineering/Science. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or lab equipment (tensile tester, rheometer) for testing.
• Strong background in polymer crosslinking; experience with coating, or additive manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Familiar with chemical and materials characterization techniques including UV-Vis, NMR, FTIR, mass spectrometry.
• Independent, diligent, professional and demonstrate a positive work attitude.
