Research Engineering/ Scientist Associate II

We are a recently formed cell biology lab focused on studying the role cell morphology plays in signal transduction and in understanding the ways cells manipulate their shapes as a means of altering signaling towards specific cell fates. We are seeking an experienced lab manager to join and help shape the day-to-day operations and culture of this new laboratory.

Responsibilities include administrative and laboratory support duties, performing cell biology laboratory research, and training laboratory members in experimental techniques.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or higher in biology or related field, with at least two years' experience in laboratory research. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred qualifications include more than 3 years' experience in laboratory research, lab management experience, experience with mammalian cell culture and generation of stable cell lines via lentiviral vectors, experience with bacterial cell culture, experience with PCR and fluorescence microscopy, and experience with molecular cloning via Gibson assembly, restriction digest, etc.

Salary range is $45,000 + depending on qualifications.

Working conditions may include uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished), working around chemical fumes, working around standard office conditions, working around biohazards, and working around chemicals.
