The Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Indonesian History sits within the School of Philosophical, Historical and Indigenous Studies which undertakes teaching and research in diverse areas including philosophy; Bioethics; History Archaeology and Studies.

The role of the Research Fellow is to contribute to the rich legacy of the late Professor John Legge (AO), the foundation Professor of History at Monash. This two year appointment, with the possibility of extending to a third year, offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with leading historians both within the University and beyond.

We're seeking a passionate individual who thrives both independently in a research environment and as a collaborative member of the History program. As the successful candidate you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other historian researchers at the University and beyond to develop your own publication and research portfolio in the field of Indonesian history. Ideally you will have been awarded your doctorate within the past three years in order to maximise the opportunity to successfully apply for early-career Category 1 grant opportunities.
