UCL's Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, is based in Queen Square, London. Our overall mission is to improve the lives, health and wellbeing through world-class patient centred research, education and public engagement. As a world-class centre of excellence, UCL ICN is focussed on interdisciplinary research bringing together different disciplines and combining behavioural studies with neuroimaging, brain stimulation and neurophysiology to understand both healthy cognitive function and disorders.
We are recruiting a postdoctoral research fellow to contribute to the development of combined heart-brain studies in experiments involving electroencephalography (EEG) and ECG Imaging (ECG-I). Experiments will be conducted in human subjects involving cardiac pacemakers and mapping cardiac-brain interactions.
The postdoctoral research fellow will have experience in signal processing with particular expertise in EEG (including HEP) and ECG signals. We have an ECG data analysis pipeline to utilize inverse solution mathematics to resolve conduction and repolarization metrics on the surface of the heart and examine the effects specific conditions on these metrics. The post will primarily involve setting up experiments for optimisation of data collection. Protocol design will be required as well as some practical assistance during the EEG and ECG-I experiments.
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which are below:
