Research Fellow (Chemistry/Chemical Biology/Bioengineering) Full-time

Research Fellow Position

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. The successful candidate will join a newly established, interdisciplinary research laboratory focused on developing non-invasive strategies to control gene expression and cellular behaviour.

The Research Fellow will play a significant role in designing and executing independent and collaborative research projects, developing and characterizing engineered molecular systems, mentoring students, and contributing to high-quality publications and grant-related activities. The position offers opportunities to work in a dynamic research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and strong interdisciplinary collaborations across NTU.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct independent and collaborative research in synthetic biology and protein engineering
• Lead experimental planning, data analysis, and interpretation to generate high-quality, reproducible research outcomes
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals and contribute to grant proposals and research reports
• Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in experimental techniques and scientific thinking
• Collaborate with faculty and researchers across CCEB and other NTU schools
• Support the overall research mission of the lab by contributing to technology development, knowledge dissemination, and translational opportunities

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Chemistry/Chemical Biology/Bioengineering or a closely related discipline
• At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Proficiency in common molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, protein expression, cell culture)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with mentoring students and working effectively in a team-based research environment
