Postdoctoral Fellow
Research Fellow (Flow Chemistry) Full-time
The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterisation Materials Science, Defence Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.
The Decarbonisation Programme “Singapore Max-Planck Alliance for the Sustainable Conversion of Biomass” is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemical Engineering to optimize biomass extraction and for upscaling and improving flow processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction of a flexible flow platform to perform small-scale conversions
- Implementation of its automation and closed-loop optimization
- Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers
- Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
- Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.
Job Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
- Experience in python is required
- Experience in flow chemistry
- Experience in reactor design is beneficial
- Experience in process control and PAT
- Knowledge and interest in closed-loop optimization
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Experience with laboratory automation and flow platforms
- Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
