About The Role
We are recruiting a Research Fellow to lead the team's work on zoonotic risk assessment and biosecurity. This is an emerging area as Artificial Intelligence capabilities are increasing. We have outlined strategies for improving surveillance for early detection of novel pathogens, and this post is focused on developing an integrated portfolio of activities in AI for biosecurity. This will involve design and delivery of a genotype-to-phenotype database and the development of a new conceptual model for cross-scale emergence that depend on molecular, environmental, immunological, and epidemiological processes. This post is full time and fixed-term until 31 January 2028.
About You
You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil with post-qualification research experience along with a strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field of phylogenetics. You will also have a strong ability to coordinate projects with collaborators and stakeholders and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline of zoonotic risk assessments and the development of research projects and methodologies.
