Research Fellow (Microbiology/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology) Full-time

Research Scientist Position

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. The School plays an integral role in spearheading tertiary education, advancing research innovations and providing professional services in a number of key disciplines in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Maritime Studies fields, with the objective of contributing to the technological and economic advancement of Singapore and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and investigate the environment-microbe-human complex interactions, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance risks under different environmental conditions
• Design and implement rigorous study
• Conduct wet-lab experiments
• Perform in-depth, critical data analyses
• Effectively communicate through presentations and high-quality journal publications
• Assist in supervising research students in the group

Job Requirements

• PhD degree in microbiology, bioinformatics, computational biology or a related field.
• Expertise in python, linux and HPC.
• Have experience in conducting wet-lab experiments.
• A strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with group members and collaborators.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English – essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
• Ability to work efficiently and with minimum supervision.
