Join a world-class research environment at Monash University and contribute to cutting-edge innovation at the intersection of nanotechnology, bioengineering, and translational medicine.
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow (Level A) to join the node of the ARC Training Centre for Microphysiological System Technology (MiPSET), based at the Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN). This role offers a unique opportunity to work on pioneering platforms that are transforming how we model human physiology and accelerate therapeutic discovery.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of a next-generation, high-throughput and highly predictive microphysiological system, centred on a sophisticated blood–brain barrier (BBB) on-a-chip and multi-organ-on-a-chip platform. Leveraging advanced microfluidics, live-cell imaging, and integrated biosensing technologies, you will help generate multi-parametric insights into barrier integrity, compound transport, and cellular interactions.
Working with leading researchers and industry partners, you will investigate how nanomaterials, small molecule drugs, and infectious agents interact with and cross the BBB and other tissue barriers. Your work will directly inform strategies to enhance therapeutic delivery to the brain and unlock new understanding of BBB function in health and disease.
This position is ideal for an early-career researcher looking to:
As a Level A research-only academic, you will actively contribute to defined research projects, support publication outputs, and further develop your research profile in a globally recognised research environment.
