The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our dynamic team at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. This role focuses on elucidating the 3D structures of corneal amyloid using advanced structural biology techniques. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of structural biology and biomedical science, with a particular emphasis on NMR spectroscopy and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on corneal amyloids, including their structural characterization using advanced techniques such as NMR and cryo-EM.
• Develop and refine methodologies to investigate amyloid formation and its role in disease pathology.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including clinical and animal model researchers, to advance amyloid research.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to scientific knowledge dissemination.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to post-graduate students and junior researchers.

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Structural Biology, Biochemistry or related field
• Hands-on experience with NMR spectroscopy and cryo-EM for structural characterization.
• Prior completion of a laboratory animal handling course is highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, think critically, and develop solutions under tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to collaborate in a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment.
