Research Fellow (Structural Biology) Full-time

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

We are seeking a highly experienced scientist with expertise in structural biology, particularly in protein chemistry and cryo-EM. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving research on mycobacterial enzymes and multi-subunit complexes, contributing both technical expertise and leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct research on the 3D structure determination of mycobacterial enzymes and large protein complexes.
• Set up and perform cryo-EM experiments, including data collection, processing, and structural analysis.
• Provide mentorship to students and junior researchers in the lab.
• Communicate research findings effectively and contribute to collaborative projects.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in structural biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Extensive technical experience in protein chemistry, protein engineering, and 3D structure determination of large/multi-subunit enzyme complexes.
• Proven expertise in cryo-EM experiment design, execution, and data interpretation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring students or junior scientists.
