Then you could be our new Research Scientist, ensuring worldwide supply of our vaccines to the growing salmon aquaculture industry.
We're looking for a Research Scientist to temporarily join our team in our Aqua Research and Development Division, located in Bergen Norway. This temporary position will report to the Biochemistry Section leader and will also directly report to project teams for project related tasks.
Conduct and document trials (including fish trials) and laboratory analyses as requested. Take part in general laboratory operations, maintenance, ensure compliance and work within Company Quality systems (GMP/GLP when requested) and Regulatory guidelines, contribute to development and maintenance of company Quality and SHE program/systems, propose where possible improvements to facilitate or expedite the overall activities and contribute to the overall efficiencies within the R&D site. As project team member, contribute to project discussions within R&D organize, perform and report within deadline on agreed project tasks and write and revise laboratory procedures (SOPs). Specific tasks within the Biochemistry section upon request, perform analytical tests and provide raw data to the requester, prepare R&D vaccine formulations, and perform physico-chemical tests required for the projects.
• Technical engineer with university degree (Bachelor with over 3 years of professional experience or master with extensive lab experience) in a relevant field (i.e. molecular biology, biochemistry, virology or bacteriology) from accredited university or equivalent. • Experience and good knowledge of common techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology (endpoint PCR, real time PCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, immunoblot). • Ability to work with clean- and sterile techniques • Experience with preparation and physico-chemical testing of vaccine formulations (emulsions) is a plus. • Experience with in vivo animal/fish studies, as well as knowledge about fish health and vaccines in general is a plus, interest in aquaculture is a must. Education in Laboratory Animal Science (LAS) is preferable. • Proficiency in using computerized systems, data management tools and Microsoft office (MS Excel, Word) • Organized personality and structured work capability • Strong teamwork skills and problem-solving mindset with abilities to work autonomously • Fluent in both Norwegian and English • Good skills to write autonomously (in English) high-quality experimental study protocols and reports and write and revise laboratory procedures (SOPs).
