This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Pharmacy technical team as a facilities specialist.
The main purpose of this position is to provide leadership and operational management of the School of Pharmacy's Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Science and Technology Platform (NMR-STP) working in close collaboration with the Academic Lead (Dr Chris Waudby). The post-holder will work within a team supporting facilities within UCL School of Pharmacy research department of Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry, and will be line managed by Prof. Zoë Waller. They will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality expertise, technology, and services that meet the needs of the research and teaching community. They will provide guidance in experimental design and the most productive use of the NMR platform for users.
• The position is available at Grade 7 or Grade 8, depending on the applicant's previous experience. Full job descriptions for each of these grades is provided.
• It is anticipated that this position will be for approximately seven months, from April 2026.

• This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
You will be an enthusiastic, team-player with good practical experience in and theoretical knowledge of using and troubleshooting in NMR Spectroscopy. You must have at least a BSc/Level 6 qualification in a relevant Biological Sciences subject or equivalent experience relevant to analytical/biological/pharmaceutical chemistry and proven knowledge of research techniques and methodologies relevant to NMR Spectroscopy.
