The Singh Lab in the Division of Oncology, Section of Cellular Therapies is seeking a motivated scientist to join our group researching ways to improve immune cell therapies for cancer. In the last ten years, engineering of human immune cells has led to remarkable breakthroughs in the treatment of cancer. The most successful example is the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered T cells to treat leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Our translational immune-engineering lab is focused on developing advanced cellular therapies that improve the anti-cancer activity of engineered T cells. This work integrates classical immunology, genomics, protein biochemistry and bioengineering. Common techniques include flow cytometry, DNA and RNA sequencing, gene therapy, CRISPR-based genome editing, synthetic protein design and analysis of blood and tumor samples from patients treated at Barnes Jewish Hospital. This position is ideally suited for candidates interested in pursuing a career in science or medicine. With Dr. Singh's supervision, the applicant will assist with technical aspects of studies and experiments with the goal of leading an independent project. We are a highly-collaborative group looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, independent thinker with a tremendous work ethic to join our team. The position will require excellent planning and organizational skills, an ability to work well with others as part of a cohesive team, take initiative, and creatively problem solve. Dr. Singh is also deeply committed to the career growth and success for each member of the laboratory. Mentorship is planned and tailored to each member of the group and our laboratory operates with a primary goal of fostering career goals and development.
