The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical institution with more than 250 employees and over 900 additional coworkers connected via the Uppsala University Hospital. The Department of Medical Sciences has a broad research profile with strong research groups in a number of different areas. The research carried out at the department is performed in close connection with the clinical activities at the Uppsala University Hospital, which includes both basic studies on the causes of a variety of illnesses and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. The position is placed within the research group Clinical Psychiatry led by Professor Fotis Papadopoulos. Within the research group, a number of researchers work in the field of gender dysphoria, utilizing clinical data from the multicenter Swedish Gender Dysphoria Study (SKDS) as well as nationwide data from the Swedish national health registers.
We are currently seeking a candidate who is interested in joining our research team. This position involves participating in the planning, coordination, and implementation of research studies aimed at providing scientifically robust answers to key knowledge gaps in the field of gender dysphoria (GD), as well as developing new interventions to promote resilience and evidence-based healthcare practices. For example, you will examine core outcomes of gender-affirming treatments (GAT) in GD and assess the safety of these treatments.
This position, in an engaging, transdisciplinary and international research environment, where you will be able to contribute to internationally leading research, provides an excellent opportunity for a transition to an independent academic career.
Duties
The successful candidate will partly coordinate the various research projects described above, in collaboration with other research assistants, doctoral students and postdocs. Focus will be on working with statistical analysis, manuscript preparation and grant applications.

Requirements
For employment as a researcher, you must have a PhD, or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD, in the field of transgender health.
The candidate must have a strong quantitative research background, be able to independently conduct data preprocessing, data analyses and manuscript preparation. Excellent oral and written English language skills are also required. Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and data management as well as extensive analysis experience in R is required.
Good ability to work together in a team is a requirement, as is the ability to work independently.
