The Analytical Development team is a tight-knit group of energetic, inquisitive, fun, and motivated individuals. We work closely on Lilly Gene Therapy's programs to progress our mission of curing disease. We are a tight-knit group within Lilly, responsible for developing and running robust and innovative analytical methods to support internal and external manufacturing processes, while also staying on the groundbreaking of industry standards.

We are seeking a motivated individual who can take on ownership of established molecular biology assays as well as contribute to the development of new innovative assays for testing our gene therapy drug candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Perform testing in support of our internal programs using techniques such as ddPCR, agarose and capillary gel electrophoresis, Sanger sequencing, and NGS.
• Analyze, document, and report data in a prompt manner. This role requires an individual who is highly organized and detail oriented.
• Contribute to all aspects of analytical assay development, from design to qualification, for our gene therapy drugs.
• Contribute to the development and qualification of new molecular bio assays, including titer, genomic integrity, and next-generation sequencing assays.
• Perform routine testing for lot release, stability, compatibility and other studies.
• Write technical reports and SOPs.
• Communicate data within the group as well as across functions.
• Please note that this is a hands-on, full-time laboratory-based role.

Basic Qualifications:

BS or MS with 2-3 + years of lab experience with molecular biology techniques

Additional Skills/Preferences:

• Lab skills which may include qPCR /ddPCR, next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, gel/ capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, or others.
• Excellent pipetting technique and general lab skills.
• Assay development experience.
• Understanding of analytical method lifecycle of development, qualification, validation, and documentation is a plus.
• Prior experience with AAVs is a plus.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A passion for learning, understanding, and advancing science.
• Motivation to learn new skills both inside and outside the lab.
• Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $71,250 – $187,000.

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
