The Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center is one of BMS's differentiated research platforms delivering innovative therapies to patients. Our mission is to drive leadership in the use of cellular therapies to harness the power of the immune system in treating hematologic malignancies, solid cancers, and autoimmune disease. More specifically, our discovery and translational scientists are focused on developing next-generation, engineered cell-based therapies. Position Summary:

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated immunologist with a strong background in T cell immunology who will drive the optimization of next generation T cell therapeutics. The optimal candidate will have an in-depth conceptual understanding of tumor-associated T cell biology, including T cell activation, signaling, differentiation, and immune-regulation pathways. Must be able to identify relevant assays and have experience in developing novel approaches and technologies for assessing and optimizing functionality of T cells. This position is ideal for the innovative scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Candidates with demonstrated experience advancing T cell therapeutic development projects are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Responsibilities:

In the role as a Scientist within Cell Therapy TRC, the ideal candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Application of extensive knowledge of T cell biology including activation pathways, signaling pathways and antigen-specific differentiation, to characterize T cells in vitro and enable science-driven decision making
• Plan and implement critical studies required to drive hypothesis-driven research
• Strong ability to interpret and synthesize information from complex datasets, both published and internal within BMS
• Identification of new methods and research tools for continuous development of drug candidate screening workflow in vitro
• Provide scientific and technical insights on cross-functional assignments
• Provide recommendations on department-level strategic decisions
• Represent the company in external settings and work with internal and external collaborators
• Act as a functional advisor to team members, especially to more junior colleagues

Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of academic and / or industry experience
• Or Master's Degree with 3+ years of academic and / or industry experience
• Or Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences with no experience necessary

Compensation Overview: Seattle – WA: $122,810 – $148,814

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
