Scientist I – Peptide Synthesis Full-time

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Peptide Synthesis team. The Scientist will set up and operate synthesizers, aid in peptide processing, and contribute technical expertise to improve workflows. Strong laboratory experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt quickly are keys to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot peptide synthesizers and related equipment (centrifuges, rotovaps, and balances)
2. Solid phase peptide synthesis utilizing both manual and automated methodologies
3. Perform routine wet laboratory techniques (pipetting, reagent reconstitution, calculations, weighing) independently to generate reliable and consistent results
4. Follow and adhere to SOPs for standardized activities; recommend improvements as needed, and implement changes where necessary
5. Complete hazardous waste training and manage hazardous waste
6. Maintain accurate records and ELN
7. Stay informed on relevant scientific literature

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication. Experience with HPLC (analytical/preparative) method is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience, or Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in peptide purification; experience in peptide synthesis is highly desirable.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
