The of Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in accordance with Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, as amended by Act No. 420/2005 Coll. and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences, announces a selection procedure for the position of Scientist – Postdoctoral Researcher.
The Nuclear Physics Institute with its long tradition of nuclear research in Řež, is part of the Czech Academy of Sciences and focuses primarily on experimental and theoretical nuclear physics, including applied research.
We are the CRL radiocarbon laboratory at the Nuclear Physics Institute, equipped with an accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) system, and we are the only laboratory of its kind in the Czech Republic. Our equipment also includes other analytical and laboratory instruments. In this area, we can compare ourselves with the world’s leading radiocarbon laboratories. We are currently working on several projects and also handle commercial orders (https://www.ujf.cas.cz/en/departments/department-of-radiation-dosimetry/).
Who we are looking for:
Scientist – postdoctoral researcher with experience in measuring the isotopic abundance of 13C and 15N using Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS). Experience with HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) and FTIR (Fourier Transformed Infrared spectroscopy) instruments is an advantage. Experience with radiocarbon dating is an advantage.
