Senior Associate Scientist

Location: Vitry-Sur-Seine – France

As an Upstream Process Development Scientist supporting early-stage biopharmaceutical candidates, you will execute experiments and contribute technical expertise to process optimization and scale-up activities using CHO cell culture platforms. You'll work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, applying platform-based approaches including fed-batch, perfusion, and intensified culture strategies while supporting timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute upstream process development activities for early-stage clinical candidates, performing experiments to characterize and optimize cell culture processes using lab-scale bioreactors and advanced platforms including Ambr250 systems.
• Conduct cell line evaluation studies, media optimization experiments, and process parameter characterization in sterile environments across multiple culture modes (fed-batch, perfusion, intensified cultures).
• Operate and maintain ATF (Alternating Tangential Flow) systems for perfusion culture applications and support process automation initiatives.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical and visualization software (JMP or equivalent) and contribute to technical discussions for process development.
• Support process development timelines and collaborate cross-functionally with analytical development, downstream processing, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, contribute to development reports, and support technology transfer activities to clinical manufacturing sites.

About You:

• Hands-on experience with CHO cell culture techniques, lab-scale operations in sterile environments, and data analysis using statistical software.
• Technical and Soft Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data and drawing scientific conclusions, strong foundation in cell culture biology and bioprocess engineering, analytical thinking, technical versatility with diverse culture modes, effective teamwork and communication skills, adaptability to learn new techniques, and attention to detail in laboratory work.
• Education: Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Cell Biology, or related scientific discipline.
• Languages: Fluent English and French (written and oral).
