The Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) and the Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) are interdisciplinary clinical services programs intended to offer primary care clinic providers and OBGYNs prompt access to on-call psychiatrists to provide expertise in assessment, treatment, and referrals for pediatric and/or perinatal patients identified as having a mental health challenge. The Senior Behavioral Health Outreach Consultant will work under the supervision of the program's Medical Director in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Consultant Manager. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with providers, ability to work independently with an attention to detail and effective oral and written communication skill, and an ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders.
This is a state funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children, adolescents, and perinatal women.
A flexible working arrangement agreement can be accommodated based upon the needs of the program and with supervisor approval. This position may require occasional work on-site for some of the scheduled work week. Remote work will require reliable internet access and a suitable private workspace free from distractions.
This position has an end date of 8/31/2026, but may be renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.
The Senior Behavioral Health Outreach Consultant will provide consultation services to providers, such as pediatricians, family medicine physicians, OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and/or midwives needing assistance with patient behavioral health concerns, psychiatric consultation, behavioral management plans, or resources with the goal of increasing access to mental health services for mothers, children, and adolescents. The Senior Provider Behavioral Health Consultant will work efficiently to help providers manage mental health concerns, facilitate referrals, and complete outreach to increase program visibility and impact.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
$72,000+ depending on qualifications
