Senior Medical Scientist, Medical Affairs- Dermatology – Rheumatology

In this vital role you will drive the development and execution of product Medical strategies to improve Amgen's value proposition in alignment with product strategy in the US. The Inflammation US Medical Senior Medical Scientist for US Products supports the implementation of US Inflammation Medical strategies, including US launch and lifecycle management.
Supports the development and execution of US products medical strategy, via the US Medical Plan, including launch support and lifecycle management, in alignment with US Commercial Brand strategy and Global Medical strategy
Supports development of local Access and Use Evidence Generation (AUEG) in alignment with Global and US Medical Strategies.
Supports the development and implementation of Medical Affairs clinical studies.
Supports Congress medical training, execution and reporting.
Participates in engagement of external key partners (often in partnership with other functions).
Participates with the MAC operating committee in the material reviews, ensuring Medical and Scientific accuracy during reviews.
Supports or implements external Stakeholder Strategy Engagement strategy and execution with medical experts, professional societies, patient groups and other key partners.
Supports commercial cross-functional initiatives, including Commercial ad boards and speaker trainings.
Medical / Scientific contribution to Value Dossiers, compendia and interactions with payers in collaboration with VA&P.
Performs product-specific US evidence generation strategy, in alignment with EGT, and supports execution of data communication strategy.
Provides input into medical and scientific insight for incorporation into US product strategies.
Builds Amgen 's reputation as a science-based and patient-focused reliable partner
Conducts comprehensive and in-depth scientific reviews to critically evaluate data, ensure accuracy and support evidence-based decision-making.
Translates clinical and scientific insights into actionable strategies to address unmet medical needs.
Contributes to product lifecycle management, including launch readiness and post-market activities.
Leads or supports the design, execution, and oversight of Phase 3b/4 studies, trials, and real-world evidence (RWE) projects.
Ensures high-quality dissemination of clinical and scientific data in publications, presentations, and other channels.
Provides input into regulatory submissions, value dossiers, and health economics outcomes research (HEOR) initiatives.
Collaborates with internal teams to ensure alignment of evidence generation with market access needs.
Facilitates advisory boards, symposia, and other scientific engagements to gather insights and share medical knowledge.
Provides scientific input into marketing materials, promotional campaigns, and training programs while ensuring compliance with regulations.
Supports product launches by integrating scientific insights into commercial strategies.
Ensures all medical activities align with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Develops an environment of ethical conduct and integrity within the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of directly related experience
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of directly related experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of directly related experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of directly related experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharma/biotech industry
Experience with stakeholder engagement and interactions (e.g. opinion leaders, advocacy groups, collaborative research networks).
In-depth understanding of scientific methods and clinical applications based on medical, scientific and practical rationale.
In-depth understanding of Inflammation and Immunology.
Familiarity with concepts of clinical research, clinical trial design, real world evidence, and biostatistics.
Launch experience for new therapies or products.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle, and commercialization processes, including but not limited to, clinical operations, commercial, regulatory, and medical affairs.
Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
