About the Senior Research Technician role:
As the Senior Research Technician, your day-to-day duties will involve supporting Drosophila-focused research within the lab in a variety of ways including husbandry, cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, maintaining fly stocks, and other research support-related tasks. The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organized, responsible professional with significant prior experience in a research environment who is passionate about the lab’s work and looking for a stable, long-term career experience.

Physical Requirements
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet). $56,695.00 (minimum) – $70,900.00 (midpoint) – $92,115.00 (maximum)

HHMI considers a candidate’s education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal consistency when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
