Senior Scientist Position

We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Scientist position based in Spring House, PA.

Position Overview:

This candidate will conduct research directed towards elucidating the protective and pathologic roles of immune cell populations in tissues in health and disease, identifying potential pathways for therapeutic intervention, and designing and executing in vitro target validation studies.

We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Immunology Discovery group. The candidate is expected to design/execute fit-for-purpose experimental plans, partnering closely with project team members involved in therapeutics discovery, pharmacology, and data science. The successful candidate will generate robust, reproducible datasets and clear mechanistic narratives to support decision-making at key governance milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, perform, and interpret in vitro experiments to support target validation and mechanism of action studies
• Employ pharmacological and genetic (CRISPRi, CRISPRa) methods to interrogate activation and/or suppression of specific targets and pathways-of-interest
• Employ in silico approaches to interrogate multi-omic datasets to identify key molecular features and cellular mechanisms and pathways regulating stromal cell activity in disease
• Document research in internal discovery reports, manuscripts for external publication, and other formats as required
• Present research at internal meetings and external scientific forums
• Work closely with colleagues from partner organizations to enable and/or support research activities
• Work with leadership to establish and maintain involvement in any external collaborations required to support research goals

Requirements:

• PhD in Immunology, pharmacology or a related field with 3-5 years of post-doctoral experience and a strong publication record
• Experience with in vitro cell culture, particularly with adherent, structural cell types (ex. fibroblasts, epithelium)
• Experience with in vivo techniques (ex. rodent handling, dosing of therapeutic molecules, tissue harvesting) is advantageous
• Experience with standard methods for examination of gene and protein expression, including quantitative PCR, ELISA- and flow cytometry-based methods
• Experience with bioinformatics tools for analysis of differential gene expression in RNA seq datasets is preferred
• Strong oral, written and fit-for-purpose communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal & collaborative skills with an ability to operate as part of a team in highly interdependent environment.
