Senior Scientist II, PK Sciences Full-time

Clinical Translational Research Hub Position

This position is a new creation for the clinical translational research hub. As a PK (Pharmacokinetics) expert, you will contribute to Novartis's drug development in Japan as part of departmental or cross-departmental project teams, or other science or business/operations teams. You will influence the team based on data.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

• Contribute to Japanese development project teams as a PK expert.
• Create internal decision-making documents, study protocols, study summaries, investigational drug summaries, and new drug approval documents in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Share and resolve PK-related issues in development projects in Japan through communication with Global.
• Align PK plans and strategies with sub-teams, project teams, and leadership teams.
• Participate in cross-departmental teams and department-wide initiatives.
• Complete all necessary organizational training and requirements according to company schedules and adhere strictly to appropriate SOPs.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in a scientific field.
• More than two years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with knowledge or experience related to drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics.
• Knowledge in related fields of drug discovery or development (e.g., biostatistics, toxicology, regulation).
• Fluent in Japanese and English (both spoken and written).
• High motivation and communication skills.
• Required qualifications may be considered flexibly.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in clinical trial development and new drug approval.
• Experience working in a laboratory or clinical pharmacology department.
• Experience with PK-related software (e.g., Phoenix, NONMEM, SAS, GustroPlus).
• Knowledge and experience with radiopharmaceuticals.
• Experience with modeling analysis (e.g., PPK, PKPD, PBPK).
