The Magee lab studies the mechanisms that regulate childhood blood development and genetic changes that cause leukemia in children. We have several projects related to these general topics. Each focuses on gene regulation – and changes that occur in gene regulation – during stem cell development and differentiation. We use mice to model pediatric malignancies. The overall goal of our work is to develop new treatments for children with leukemia and other blood disorders.
