As a Specialist Mental Health Mentor, you'll provide support to students with mental health conditions. Specialist Mentors work to help students achieve their full potential at university while also mitigating the impact their mental health condition might have on them.
You'll provide tailored, one-to-one support to help students address the barriers to participating in their education. This support is primarily provided for students with long term (12 months or more) mental-health conditions or autism spectrum disorders.

To do this job you'll need strong awareness and understanding of legislation relating specifically to mental health. You'll have experience of working within higher education and/or an understanding of the support available to students within higher education, together with previous experience of working with adults and/or young people.
You should have demonstrable experience of working flexibly whilst maintaining professional boundaries, and must be adept at managing a large and demanding workload in a busy environment.
