Technical Application Scientist II

As a Technical Application Scientist II, you will partner with researchers and customers to resolve complex chemistry-related questions that directly impact their success and the effective use of Thermo Fisher Scientific products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, while continuously expanding your technical knowledge across a diverse chemical product portfolio.

A Day in the Life:

• Provide expert-level technical support for Thermo Fisher Scientific chemical product portfolios by addressing customer inquiries via telephone, email, and web chat.
• Own and manage technical cases from initial inquiry through resolution, ensuring timely, high-quality customer support.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Product Management, to resolve complex technical issues and identify effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of customer interactions in CRM systems to support service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Proactively recommend enhancements to technical knowledge bases, websites, and other company-managed resources to improve usability and customer experience.
• Invest in your professional development through ongoing product training, continuous learning, and exposure to new applications and emerging technologies.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and special initiatives to broaden technical expertise and enhance career development.

Keys to Success:

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline required.
• 1+ years of hands-on laboratory experience, with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot experiments and interpret scientific data required (equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience may be considered).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality scientific support.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $60,000.00–$80,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
