Technical Project Manager (AISG)

AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The programme office is hosted by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.

We are looking for an individual to join our team as a Technical Project Manager (AISG). The Technical Project Manager (AISG) will manage and oversee a series of experimental projects on Artificial Intelligence (AI) from initiation to implementation, working with project teams of Mentors, Engineers and Apprentices, and working groups of Project Sponsors, Professors and PhDs, to jointly design, develop and implement the AI solutions. The Project Manager is required to plan, manage, execute and track the progress of the projects, to bring the projects to their successful completion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Own and be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, meeting requirements and within allocated budget.
2. Manage project lifecycle, from requirement, design, technical construction, testing, acceptance, training, documentation and implementation, in accordance with the Company's Project Management and Delivery Framework.
3. Work closely with the Project Sponsors on the agreed project timeline and objectives.
4. Plan, coordinate and communicate project plan, timeline and activities to the project team of Mentors, Engineers and Apprentices.
5. Monitor and track progress of projects and stay on top of projects to ensure smooth execution.
6. Manage and coordinate project deliverables, ensuring their quality and configuration management.
7. Analyze and highlight project risks and develop necessary risk mitigation plans.
8. Analyze and highlight project dependencies to pre-empt project issues.
9. Oversee project teams' performance, provide guidance to address challenges, and resolve conflicts within the teams.
10. Manage customers' expectations by understanding customers' needs and providing realistic expectations and scope of projects.
11. Manage and work closely with 3rd-parties, if any, involved in projects.
12. Regularly report project progress to the Head of Project Management, and escalate unresolved at project team level.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Certified Project Manager, either CITPM or PMP certified, with at least 8 years of experience in IT, including 3 years of experience in managing IT projects and software/application development lifecycles.
• At least 1 year of experience in Agile project management methodology.
• Strong delivery management experience, with proven track records in managing and steering projects towards smooth execution and on time delivery.
• Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience in managing AI projects is preferred.
• Experience in change management, issue management and configuration management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, effective in fostering teamwork and managing high performance project teams.
