**Position Summary**
The Ardeshir Laboratory at the Tulane National Primate Research Center seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to lead innovative research projects investigating microbiome–immune system interactions in aging and metabolic disease using cutting-edge spatial transcriptomics, multi-omics approaches, and computational biology.
**About the Lab**
The Ardeshir Lab focuses on understanding how microbial communities influence immune system function and disease progression in non-human primate models. Our research integrates advanced molecular technologies with computational approaches to address fundamental questions in immunology and microbiome science.
**Research Focus**
1. Spatial transcriptomics analysis of tissue-microbiome-immune interactions
2. Multi-omics integration for systems-level understanding of host-microbiome crosstalk
3. Computational modeling of microbiome dynamics in aging and metabolic disease
4. Development of bioinformatics pipelines for large-scale genomic data analysis
5. Application of machine learning approaches to predict disease outcomes
**Required Education and Experience**
• Ph.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field
• Strong background in microbiome research and/or immunology
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics and/or single-cell sequencing technologies
• Proficiency in computational analysis and programming (R, Python, or similar)
**Required Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**
• Expertise in multi-omics data analysis and integration
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases
• Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with non-human primate research models preferred
**Application Instructions**
Interested candidates should submit: CV, cover letter describing research interests and experience, and contact information for three professional references. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
