PhD and MSc opportunities in Photonics Full-time

The Photonics Labs at the University of Calgary is seeking motivated MSc and PhD students to join our research team. Students with background or interests in the following research areas are encouraged to apply:

• Photonic Integrated Circuits
• Quantum Optical Microcombs
• Optical Frequency Combs
• Quantum Dot/Dash Lasers Applications
• Quantum Key Distribution
• Quantum Photoncis 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or Physics or related fields

• Background in photonics, optics, or quantum photonics

• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL Multiphysics, Lumerical, MATLAB, Python)

Bonus and preferred 

• Solid understanding of nonlinear optics, and semiconductor devices

• Hands-on experience in cleanroom fabrication or nanophotonic device testing
