Post Doc Fellow, Department of Cancer Biology, Czyzky-Krzeska Lab, College of Medicine
A full-time Post Doc position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Czyzyk-Krzeska in the Department of Cancer Biology and University of Cincinnati Cancer Center in The Vontz Center for Molecular Studies. Dr. Czyzyk-Krzeska is a physician scientist focusing on the frequent malignant renal cancer, clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Research integrates state-of-the-art molecular biology using cell-based and animal models as well as system biology bioinformatics multiomics technologies to investigate mechanisms of ccRCC progression and to establish prognostic and predictive biomarkers. The leading focus is cancer metabolism and role of metals, in particular trace element copper, in regulation of cancer cell metabolism and function (Cancer Discovery, 2025, https://aacrjournals.org/cancerdiscovery/article/15/2/401/751339/Copper-Drives-Remodeling-of-Metabolic-State-and). The research team includes internal faculty, postdocs and graduate students and external collaborators in the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry, bioinformatics, chemistry and medical oncology. This environment is conductive for high quality multidisciplinary training and provides strong mentoring towards development into independent investigator.
Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.
Essential Functions
Required Education
Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology, Cell Biology, Genomics, Chemistry or a related field, or the recognized terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent.
