JOB SUMMARY
The Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) Department at the University of Connecticut is seeking to fill a 12-month Laboratory Technician 1 (P2) position beginning January 2026. The successful candidate will provide technical support for high-enrollment MCB undergraduate laboratory courses on the Storrs campus. This position is part of the department’s Teaching Laboratory Services unit, which supports the undergraduate laboratory courses.

Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
The expected work hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, which includes 30 minutes for lunch. The incumbent is expected to work flexible work hours depending on departmental course offerings, which could include arriving before 10:00 am on certain days or staying beyond 5:30 pm, but not exceeding a seven-hour workday.
