The Strongly Correlated Systems Group at the Institute of Physics, University of São Paulo (IF-USP), under the supervision of Prof. Eric C. Andrade, is seeking candidates for a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship. This position is part of a FAPESP Young Investigator project. The research focuses on the complex interplay between geometric frustration and disorder in two-dimensional magnetic systems. The primary goal is to investigate the stability of exotic phases, such as quantum spin liquids, and to predict experimental signatures (dynamical structure factor and thermodynamic response) in real materials. The main research fronts include: 1) Kitaev Materials: Study of 4d and 5d Mott insulators under the influence of disorder and external fields; 2) Rare-earth Systems: Focus on triangular lattice compounds with non-Kramers magnetic ions, where disorder can act as a random transverse magnetic field. Starting Date: July 1st, 2026. Requirements: Applicants must have previous experience in frustrated systems or correlated electronic systems. Application: To apply, please send the following documents to the application e-mail with the subject line “FAPESP Postdoctoral Position Application”: Curriculum Vitae; Cover letter describing your research profile and how it relates to the position; Names and contact information (e-mails) of three references.
