Postdoctoral Position in Systems Physiology and Sepsis

We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to work on studies of physiological mechanisms in animal models of sepsis, with a focus on the interaction between inflammation, energy metabolism, and thermoregulation. The project involves in vivo experiments with rodents, induction of systemic inflammation by lipopolysaccharide (LPS), induction of experimental sepsis by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP), monitoring of physiological parameters, collection and processing of biological samples, biochemical and immunological analyses, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and participation in the academic activities of the project.
Required qualifications:
PhD in Physiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field, obtained within the last 7 years or otherwise compatible with FAPESP rules; experience with experimental animals; proficiency in small-animal surgery, biological sample collection and processing, and biochemical/immunological assays; knowledge of programming and statistical analysis; ability to conduct research independently; and strong scientific communication skills in English.
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience with sepsis models, LPS-induced endotoxemia, and/or cecal ligation and puncture (CLP); experience with inflammatory, metabolic, and physiological analyses; familiarity with statistical and graphical software; and a solid publication record.
